Helen Martens has served as senior receptionist with Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors since 1979. She and her late husband Ed were among the first members of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church of Birmingham, where Helen is still very active. In addition to serving as receptionist, Helen also oversees the funeral home's landscaping design. She is a regular recipient of the Beautification Award in her community.
