Pat Lynch, President and Co-founder of the Clawson location is a second generation funeral director. After graduation from Brother Rice High School in 1968, he attended the University of Dayton on a football scholarship and graduated from Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science, where he served as class President, in 1972.
In 1977 he was instrumental in the opening of Lynch & Sons, Clawson location. An active member of funeral service associations, he served as President of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association in 2003-2004 and as the President of the National Funeral Directors Association from 2010-2011. Among his primary focuses in association work has been consumer protection. As president of the Michigan association he helped to pass landmark consumer protection legislation and he is a founding member of the Preneed with Integrity Task Force of the National Funeral Directors Association.
Pat is committed to community service. He has been President of the Birmingham Optimist Club, the Oakland County Branch of the American Cancer Society, the Brother Rice High School Alumni Association, the Archdiocese of Detroit, Troy Vicariate, and the Millpond Homeowners Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of Brother Rice High School, Everest Academy, Angel’s Place (homes for the developmentally disabled and MIRA (Mental Illness Research Association) He has served as Chairman of the Guest House Dinner and the Most Holy Trinity “Sharin’ of the Green” Event. And, he has been a member of the Marian High School and Brother Rice High School Dad’s clubs, the Birmingham Rotary Club and the University of Dayton and Wayne State University Alumnae Associations. He has been active in the Village Players and St. Dunstan’s Theatre.
Pat and his wife, Mary Callaghan Lynch married in 1977 at Holy Name Church in Birmingham, where they have both been lifelong members. Mary is the Founder and Artistic Director of The Motor City Lyric Opera Company.
