Dan J. Call
Age 87 of Metamora died April 20, 2008. He was born Oct. 14, 1920 in Manistque, Michigan to Daniel and Anna (DeHut) Call. Dan served his country in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific. He worked as an electrical contractor for 35 years and owned his own business. He loved boating and yard work and he especially loved his grandchildren. Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Helen; Son, Ronald (Patricia) Call; grandsons, Matthew (Domonique) Call, Mark (Jennifer) Call; great-grandsons, Jacob, Nathan, Zachary; brother, Don Call; sister, Anna Mae Nelson. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers and an infant son.

Funeral service will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 814 West Nepessing St., Lapeer, Wednesday April 23, 2008 11:00 AM. Fr. Richard Lewnau will officiate. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Elsie Gerulis
Age 83 of Lapeer died April 24, 2008. She was born December 31, 1924 in Detroit to the late Gus and Rosa Hochikoff. Elsie had retired from North Detroit General after many years serving as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed traveling the nation, crocheting and solitaire. Elsie was also a member of the Polish Century Club. She is survived by her 4 children; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. Elsie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom Gerulis. Cremation has already taken place. Memorials to the Suncrest Auxiliary are greatly appreciated. Mary Lou Nelson
Age 67 of Lapeer died April 19, 2008. Born February 21, 1941 in West Virginia to the late Walter and Brookie Aldridge. Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many. She enjoyed quilting and cooking. She seemed to have a natural green thumb when it came to her plants. Through it all she had always kept the Lord close to her heart. Her family is now comforted in knowing that she will now be their guardian angel. Mary is survived by her daughters, Sheri (David) Hoag, Elizabeth Bowen, Tonya Field; sons, Keith Rice, Kelly (Teresa) Nelson; grandchildren, Trista (Lucas) Stebbins who she had helped raise, Brooke (Nathan) Smith, Meghan Rice, Jennifer Ellison, Britaney Nelson, Desirae Hoag, Shane Koval, Lee Bowen, Zachariah Hoag, Shawn Nelson, Ricky Nelson, Robert Field; great grandchildren, Hailey Stebbins, Dylan Stebbins, Savanna Smith; brother, Bernie (Effie) Aldridge; sisters, Della (Rocky) Bender, Carol (Perry) Ramey; sister-in-law, Darlene (the late, Wilburn) Aldridege; Also many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Ella Louise Nelson and loving husband Sherman Nelson. Scott Deane Hall
Age 76 of Lapeer died April 22, 2008 in the comforts of his home and surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born January 25, 1932 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Robert and Vera Hall. He bravely served in the US Army Signal Core during the Korean War. He retired after 50 + years as a sheet metal worker and was an honorary life member of the Order of Elks. He had spent 37 years with the Elks and was a past Exalted Ruler. Scott enjoyed all that the outdoors had to offer, especially hunting and fishing. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan. He also spent many years playing and umpiring softball. In his later years Scott became a level 8,000 X-Box gamer extraordinaire, it was the simple things for Scott that brought him enjoyment. Most of all, he was a dedicated family man who loved to joke around and dearly loved his favorite dog “Chips”. He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Greg Bradley) Hall; sons, Douglas (Pam) Hall, Curtis (Tracy) Hall; brother, Gary (Donna) Hall; sister, Joan Upton; grandchildren, Jessica Bradley, Robert Bradley, Amanda Hall, Christie Hall, Brandy Hall, Tiffani Hall; nephews, Gary Upton, Jeff Hall, Casey Hall. Preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hall of 47 years and sister, Roberta “Bobbie” Wedge. Private family viewing and cremation has already taken place. Memorials to the Great Lakes Cancer Institute or Heartland Hospice are greatly appreciated.
Dodi Ann Reid
Age 36 of Lapeer passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008. She was born on November 12, 1971 in Lapeer to Ray and Penny Reid. She graduated in 1996 from Lapeer West High school. In 1995 Dodi started volunteering for Lapeer Community Schools MSRP at Woodside and then the Cramton Center. Dodi is survived by her parents Ray and Penny Reid; sister, Darby (Matt) Weaver; nephew, Burke Weaver; grandparents, Patrick (Doris) Burke and Gene (the late, Albert M.) Reid; Aunt, Cathy (Tom) Benton; cousins, Libby Benton, Lacy Benton; Uncle, Dave (Bonnie) Reid; cousins, David Reid, Robert Reid, Paula (Irv) Gill. Also preceded in death by her Aunt Carolyn Green. A private family memorial service has already taken place. Gerald Eugene Chapman
Age 81 of Columbiaville, formerly of Wolverine, MI died on the morning of May 4, 2008 in the comforts of his home and amongst family. Gerald was born June 19, 1926 in Deerfield to the late Hoel and Cora Chapman. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was honorably discharged after 3 years of loyal service to his country. He went on to join the Carpenters Union and eventually retired after many years of dedication to his trade. Gerald enjoyed spending time up north in Wolverine and two tracking in the woods for hours. He was also a member of Deerfield Church of Christ. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Chapman; beloved father of Cindy (Mike) Worrell of Columbiaville and the late Ren and Kirk Chapman; beloved grandfather of Jayme (Mark), Hollie (R.J.), Shan, Tina (Shane), Scott (Kadie), Kirk (Jenny), Michael (Becky); beloved step-father of Joe (Barb) Butterfield, Nancy Butterworth, Mary Ann (Jim) Nutt; also survived by 15 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Capstick Chapel, 542 Liberty Park, Downtown Lapeer. Pastor Brent Bowden will be officiating. Pauline Stokes
Age 73 of Lapeer died May 2, 2008. She was born January 4, 1935 in Racine, Wisconsin to Anthony and Alice (Aceto) Falduto. She served her country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a proud member of American Legion Post 16 in Lapeer. Pauline moved to Lapeer in 1956 where she met her husband, James Lewis Stokes and they were married April 4, 1959. They remained in Lapeer for the remainder of their lives. Pauline was a Vice Queen in her Chapter of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed painting ceramics at Holiday Expressions in Lapeer. She was extremely loving and generous to everybody, especially her family. Most of all, Pauline loved to make her grandchildren and great grandchildren happy. She is survived by her children; Roberta Josephine (Randy) Garn, Tanya Louise (Pat) Gillett; grandchildren, Rebekah, Josiah, Mickel, Jesse, Rosemary, Douglas, Brandy, Crystal, Kevin, Tara; 18 great-grandchildren, mother, Alice Falduto; 1 brother and 1 sister. Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis Stokes, father Anthony Falduto and great-grandson, Daniel Garn. Memorials to Heartland Hospice, 1321 S. Linden Rd., Suite B, Flint, MI 48532 greatly appreciated. Funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 814 W. Nepessing St., Lapeer, Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Fr. Richard Lewnau will officiate. Burial will be in Dawn Memorial Cemetery in Elba Township with the auspices of American Legion Post 16.
