Over 300 people attended a program November 1st, at Holy Name Parish in Birmingham, honoring the late John F. Callaghan. John was the resident organist and choir master for nearly 40 years at Holy Name. He was a renowned artist and teacher and many organists throughout the Detroit metropolitan area studied with him.
One of his former pupils, Dr. Norah Duncan, IV and the Wayne State Concert Chorale, featured Handel and Mendelssohn choral works, as well as the Durufle Requiem. An afterglow reception, sponsored by Pat and Mary Lynch was well attended after the concert.
