Help For Those Who Are Grieving
Cornerstone's Stephen Ministry extends distinctively Christian care and compassion to those who are faced with times of crisis or hardship in life.

Stephen Ministers are specially trained men and women who are ready to come alongside those who need a listening ear, and a confidential relationship.

A special outreach of Cornerstone's Stephen Ministry is its Grief Support Program. If you or someone you know has experienced loss through death, there is help available. You don't need to suffer...alone.

Grief touches every family some time. Often suddenly and without warning, families are thrust into confusion and crisis. What happens to the families who have suffered loss and tragedy - whether this year or last, five or ten or twenty years ago? Many are living with the deep pain of loss, anger, and resolved grief. Some marriages may dissolved into emptiness. Families may be broken, and often their members are merely existing in a life without joy.

When everything seems hopeless, those who are grieving need to hear tht others have made it through the valley of the shadow of death. They need to know that God is near, and that He is a God of comfort and love. The church is the perfect place to hear this message. Even through tragedy God can bring hope, help us heal, and give individuals and families new dreams and renewed joy!

Support groups provide a safe place, a supportive environment in which people can come together to share concerns related to their loss and grief. Support groups also provide education and information about the grief process and help facilitate healthy ways of coping with loss and grief.

Topics to be covered:
Understanding grief - what's normal?
Stages of grief.
Holding onto memories.
Role changes.
Dealing with anger.
Who am I now?
Loneliness & friends.
Special holidays.
Where do I go from here?
Where is God?
