Dolores C. Puhy

Dolores C. Puhy, a longtime resident of Brighton, passed away in the loving care of her family on June 30, 2012, just shy of her 90th birthday.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dolores Puhy “Little Dolores” and sister, Loretta.

She is survived by her son, John Puhy of Georgia; granchildren, Chandler Puhy and Madison Puhy; brothers, Ray (Emma) Williams of Maryland, Kenneth Williams of California as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Dolores was born on July 4, 1922 in St. Louis, Illinois to parents Raymond and Margaret (nee. Weyand) Williams. A woman of deep faith, Dolores was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Brighton for over 30 years and was very active with the church, especially Council of Catholic Women (CCW). In addition to her activities with the church, she enjoyed volunteering with the Brighton pregnancy helpline. Dolores will be missed and remembered for her humorous nature, love of singing and joy for life, not only by her family but also the loving staff and friends at Independence Village and Ashley Court who were a blessing during this time.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Rickett Rd, Brighton on Monday, July 9, at 10 AM. Fr. James Mangan to officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to Special Olympic Michigan athletes.
