We are deeply saddened by Arthur's passing. He was a fine, fine gentle man whose dedication to Milford is a lasting legacy. As I've said many times, his able leadership made my job as Council President much easier and enjoyable than it might have been under other circumstances. He will be sorely missed but remembered fondly.

Dear Kelsey, Kayla, and Ieasha, The sad news of Arthur's sudden passing is so shocking. Words alone cannot express our sympathy, we cry with you. Arthur was a man to be admired, he had it all: loving & devoted wife and daughters, family, so many friends, and adopted families, a respected and beloved Manager of a wonderful Village. He was always there for any one. Kind, intelligent, humane, witty, funny, strong, and reliable, he was the lighthouse in a storm. Arthur's light will not go out, his memory is shining in our hearts and minds, he is "one of the best"! With love, Marie, Gary, Carl, and Julie ps - Julie loves you all very much.

Marie Carriere

A gentle giant, who spoke quietly, but with eloquence and a wicked sense of humor. I enjoyed working with him when Phil & I had our business in the village. He always had time to share his insights and assistance. We were blessed to have had him in our lives, & in our community.

Christine Saint George

Dear Kelsey and Arthur's daughters, Your dad and husband was a good man. He had difficult decisions to make and always did the best of his abilities. We loved his humble ways, he never got excited... but he was like the duck whose feet paddled hard underneath, resolutely staying above water. He left us so quickly, yet his impression on all of Milford is the word "enduring" that is what Arthur was all about . He loved you all so very much, and when you weren't there, he spoke of all of you highly and with a sparkle in his eyes. He will be missed. He lead with an even hand and was wise, some people are irreplaceable and that is how we truly felt about Arthur. Sending you our love at this time..of great loss for you your children and Milford. I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. He was a wonderful person. We will remember him always. God Bless.

I was saddened and shocked to learn of Art's death. Not only did we both live in Atchison but we also worked together at the City of Atchison (I am still employed here). I also knew him through the Methodist Church. I can see from everyones comments that he remained the same wonderful, kind, intelligent individual. City management is not an easy (or always appreciated) profession but I'm sure he provided much talent and insight to the village. I am so sorry for your family's loss and know he will be truly missed. Prayers to you and your family.

Lori Moore

I too was a friend of Art's at Atchison High School in Kansas, Class of 1970. He was such a kind and gentle soul. I will always remember seeing him in his Atchison Redmen jacket. Although I don't know his family personally, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. It is never easy for a loved one to leave so suddenly and unexpectedly, without warning. I pray that you all find some measure of peace and comfort in the knowledge that Art was loved by all who knew him. We understand and share your loss. May God comfort your hearts during this difficult time.

Dear Kelsey, Kayla, Ieasha, We're deeply sorry for your loss. Diane remembers Arthur from high school with great fondness. She was so excited when Arthur was city manager in Osawatomie and lived close to us. He braved a snowstorm one night to drive up from Osawatomie to Paola to eat with us. We remember what a beautiful day you had for your wedding, and we were sad when you two left Osawatomie but look what Mildord gained. Always looked forward to your Christmas letter. Arthur was always such a well loved and well respected person. Your family and community will be in our thoughts and prayers. Kevin and Diane Gray

Kelsey, Tera and I send you our deepest sympathy. Fortunately, I was privileged to have known Art personally. Art was one of the most outstanding people I have ever met. He was articulate, had high ideals, and had sound integrity. His community loved and respected him very much. Let me know how I can support you through the coming weeks.

Dear Kelsey and girls, What lovely stories and remembrances your beloved Arthur inspired, Kelsey. He was certainly a wonderful man and you two were so fortunate in finding one another. I always feel the hand of God when I hear of such unions, as I know it is God who introduces us to our perfect mate. My heart goes out to the three of you, and to all those lucky enough to know Arthur's kind and gentle soul.

Marilynne Worsoe

Kelsey, I was so sad to hear of Arthur's passing. I have such fond memories of both of you from when I was a little girl. I remember playing lincoln logs over there. You both always made my sisters and I feel so special. I always knew you would be awesome parents. Thinking of you in your time of loss. God bless.
