Marion James “Jim” Roan, of Brighton, passed away at his home on June 5, 2012. He was 66 years old.

Jim was born on April 26, 1946 to parents Marion and Alice Roan in Rolling Fork, Mississippi. Jim enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures such as fishing and cooking and had an appetite for knowledge. He could be found perusing the local library most days of the week spending hours exploring the depths of American history or keeping up with current events. Most importantly, Jim had a passion for his family and a deep love for his children. He will be sincerely missed by the many people whose lives he has touched.

Jim is survived by his loving children, Jim and Kristen Roan; former wife of 29 years, Karen Roan; dear sister, Patricia (Randy) Roan-Judd; brothers, William and Frank Roan, nieces, nephews, many extended family and dear friends who join to mourn his passing while giving thanks for his life among them.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 600 E. Main St., Brighton on Friday, June 8, at 7 PM. Pastor Matt Parks to officiate. Friends may visit Friday from 4:30 PM until the time of service.
