 Alta R. Henry of Troy, died peacefully May 30, 2012. She was 91 years old. Alta was born July 6, 1920, in Greenville, Michigan to E. Marie (nee Larsen) and Chris Rasmussen.
Alta graduated from Trufant High School and attended Davenport Institute in Grand Rapids. She married Gerald Henry on July 17, 1976. Alta worked for 26 years as a secretary in the legal department of National Bank of Detroit until her retirement in 1981. She was a long time member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Birmingham and most recently a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Birmingham.
Alta is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Henry, and sisters, Ella Petersen and Hilda Rasmussen. She is survived by her nieces, Lois (Joel) VanDyke and Lana (Jim) French and nephew, Ronald Petersen.
A Memorial Service will take place at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2225 E. Fourteen Mile Road, Birmingham, Monday 11am.
